Testimonials
Hear from one of the seniors who had signed an advance directive:
Chen Pingping's husband had been diagnosed with dementia in June 2021 and within half a year, she was the only person he recognized. Chen once hoped to sign an advance directive on her husband's behalf, but due to his inability to make decisions, she was left helpless. After learning about the benefits of an advance directive, Chen decided to sign up immediately. This was due to her own experiences with her father who had spent almost a year in a hospital in a coma before passing away. She and her siblings took turns taking care of him, which was stressful and exhausting. Coming out of this experience, Chen encourages other seniors to educate themselves and make decisions regarding their end-of-life wishes whenever possible for the benefit of themselves and their families. "No matter how rich or famous you are, death is an inevitable part of life," Chen said. "Elderly people should make plans in advance for a peaceful end and avoid difficulties in the future!"
